Spruce Projects
Spruce is a small creative furniture upholstery business located in Austin, Texas. They're experts at taking abandoned furniture and turning them into amazing, functional pieces.

DVD Packaging
I was tasked with designing the packaging for their first DVD, and chose to bring the tools and process included in the video onto the front cover. I used a grid to deliver the visuals, and added the bright orange-red color of the two fabrics used in the DVD as the visual identity of this first how-to installment. Inside, I recreated the vintage pattern from one of the chairs for big impact.

New Storefront
In the end of 2011, Spruce relocated to a larger studio space next door to their original location. I designed a bold storefront to stand out on a busy street, and the client painted it!

4th Anniversary Postcard Invite
To celebrate their 4th anniversary, Spruce threw a fantastic party in their new building space! To promote it, I illustrated the storefront that I designed for the front of the invite, and added some fancy typesetting to display the event details.

Go support this amazing little shop and learn how to re-upholster! Buy the DVD on their site, and read more about the project on their blog.
